Aladdin was the first movie I saw in theaters as a toddler. I’ve been told the story sooooo many times about how, at dinner that night, I responded to my father’s, “Excuse me?” by repeating the Genie’s monologue:
“Excuse me? Are you lookin’ at me? Did you rub my lamp? Did you wake me up? Did you bring me here? And all of a sudden you’re walking out on me? I don’t think so! You’re getting your wishes, so sit down!”
That wasn’t the end of my dinner-entertainment days, but it was the beginning.
Genie has always been a favorite character of mine. Whether it’s the legendary Robin Williams’ version or the newer Will Smith version, or he who steals the show on the stage- I am a fan.
When we decided to do an Aladdin Disney day, I knew a lot of it was going to center around Genie. I decided to ask my dragons what three wishes they would want from Genie. They had a difficult time deciding. I think my oldest’s requests ended up really being 4 or 5.
After writing out their three wishes, they had to bring one to life through art. This was an easy activity but so entertaining. If you have littles who aren’t writing yet, you can help them through it! That’s what I did with mine (although my 4YO insists he knows how to read and write everything).

Easy and so entertaining to get you in the mood for Aladdin! Click to download and print your own sheets below.
