I wouldn’t have nothin’ if I didn’t have YOU!
I love Monsters Inc. Boo to me is the epitome of a toddler, and I love watching her, Mike, and Sully grow. While Monsters University isn’t my favorite, I think it’s good as prequels go (and my dragons love it).
For our Monsters Disney Day, we focused on the monsters themselves. We started by making our Monster masks.

The dragons love these because they got to pick their colors of felt and help use the hot glue gun (big plus). However, they work great with just paper, crayons, and a glue stick as well!
Next we cooked some spookishly delicious Monster Cookies. These babies had allllll the good things to eat packed into them and they did not disappoint.

I’d like to say that they were on the healthier side because they don’t have flour in them, but I think the sugar, m&ms, chocolate chips, candy eyed, and so much more make up for that fact.
The last thing we did was play a game much like “truth or day” but instead it was “laughs or scare”. In this game, the dragons were challenged to tell their greatest jokes, make their silliest faces, and try to “boo” someone in a way it makes them jump. However, it’s not quite as simple as it sounds. You also have someone who’s “it”- and it’s a secret.
So, duck-duck goose style with eyes closed- I picked a dragon to be “it”. Then I started by asking another dragon “laughs or scare?”
If he said laughs, he gets to tell a joke (enter all the potty-humored jokes you can think of for ages 3-10). If you say “scare”, then you share something you’re scared of. Meanwhile, the person who is “it” is hiding his/her time before doing something to scare the crowd. When he/she finally does it, whoever screams is OUT and gets to pick the next scare-er.
This worked really well except it got to the point that the dragons just kept telling ridiculous jokes of their own making (aka, not always funny).

A Monsters Day would be perfect for littles to get ready for Halloween if they don’t like things that are so spooky!
